Texas Signs Nation's Top Class (2026) on Early Signing Day
Steve Sarkisian secures a historic Class of 2026 haul, including 5-star QB Dia Bell, cementing Texas' future in the SEC.
AUSTIN, Texas — The future of Texas Football arrived in spectacular fashion during the Early Signing Period, as Head Coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff inked the consensus No. 1 recruiting class in the nation. The group features 22 signees, including four 5-star prospects and nine 4-star talents.
Headliners of the Class
The crown jewel of the class is 5-star quarterback Dia Bell (Plantation, FL), touted as one of the most dynamic playmakers in the country. Bell joins a loaded QB room but is expected to compete for snaps in the future.
On the defensive side, Texas landed a massive victory by signing 5-star Edge Rusher Richard Wesley (Chatsworth, CA) and 5-star Linebacker/Safety Jonah Williams (Galveston, TX). Williams, considered the "MVP" of the class by many analysts, brings elite versatility to Will Muschamp's defense.
Five-Star Firepower
- QB Dia Bell (Plantation, FL)
- EDGE Richard Wesley (Chatsworth, CA)
- ATH Michael Terry III (Alamo Heights, TX) - Rated as the No. 1 Athlete nationally.
- LB Tyler Atkinson (Loganville, GA)
- WR Kaliq Lockett (Sachse, TX) - A 5-star talent in composite rankings.
Filling Key Needs
The class is balanced, addressing critical depth needs in the trenches. Texas signed four offensive linemen, led by John Turntine III (Fort Worth), and four defensive linemen. The addition of speedy wide receivers Jaime Ffrench and Kaliq Lockett ensures the Longhorns' passing attack remains lethal for years to come.
Sarkisian described the class as a championship-caliber group, highlighting the staff's success in securing top talent both from within Texas and across the nation.
Fifteen of the 22 signees hail from the state of Texas, reaffirming the staff's commitment to dominating in-state recruiting while plucking elite talent nationwide.
